I saw that GW has posted pics of their new Blood Angel Models.  Have they released the sample codex?

I got a look at the new BA Codex today and I have to say that it is the most ridiculous thing I have seen in a loooooooong tim.

How ridiculous?

How about a Valkyrie type variant that you can move 12 and assault out of... oh yeah, it can carry a Dread as well as a tac or jump assault squad.

Oh yeah, did I mention the DEEP STRIKING LAND RAIDER?

Yes, Codex creep is alive and well.  Roll Eyes

I'll be highly disappointed if Inquisition doesn't get something stupid like a Knight Titan in their book.

I've got my red vs blue armies Smiley  Ultramarines and Word Bearers Smiley  I just want to know what I'm up against.  I've heard a bunch of mixed reviews about their units and weapons.  I've also heard that their skimmer had AV 14 as well... so I wanted to know if there was any truth to any of it.

The skimmer transport hellmobile has av 12 12 11 not 14...it does have machine spirit though.

I don't remember seeing a deep striking land raider but I didn't look that hard.

The codex did not seem super unbalanced...and Im a blood angles player.

Good poop is really expensive.

Death company can take all sorts of stuff again but start at 35 pts per model base with jump pack. (you can have a squad of 30 though Smiley )

Everything costs a good amount of pts.

I think the only really cool thing I saw was that you can take a land raider as a dedicated transport for your troop assult squad Smiley....I think. I would have to look again to make sure.

10 points extra per model is a good trade off for feel no pain, fearless, and rending (my assaults start at 25), in addition to the free death company for each infantry unit in the army.

Rumor has it that they lost rending. If true is FNP and fearless worth it?  At a 10-man squad Nobz can get FNP at a cost of 3 pts per model, after a fashion.  So is fearless worth it at ~7 points each?

Lets not forget that the skimmer/transport is immune to the extra die that melta weapons get.

I don't believe I saw rending with the DC, I dont believe I saw that you got free models anymore either. Yeah the skimmer has the anti melta thing but still........its like 215 pts base for lascannon/missle launcher fodder. There are good aspects of the codex and bad....just like well......every other army Wink

I have almost bought those out of the case the last couple of times I have been up there. I am a terrible painter and will probably end up getting my Blood Angel's professionally painted.

I painted my necrons, but lets face it, a coat of silver and touch of yellow or green isn't hard lol. Perhaps this weekend I will actually buy them.
